First Certified Peruvian Wood Export from Native Communities of Ucayali

On Tuesday, March 29, the shipment of the first export of FSC-certified timber (Forest Stewardship Council) from the forests of the native communities in Ucayali to the United States will take place. This milestone is made possible thanks to the partnership between the Association for Research and Integrated Development (AIDER) and the company Maderera Bozovich SAC, a joint effort aimed at promoting sustainability and economic development in the Amazon region.
Benefits for the Native Communities of the Shipibo-Conibo People
The initiative will directly benefit 400 families from six native communities of the Shipibo-Conibo people. Through this project, the aim is to strengthen sustainable forest management in these communities, while providing them with an opportunity to access international markets for the sale of certified forest products, thus ensuring environmental respect and improving their quality of life.
