In an effort to strengthen the Peruvian timber industry, Bozovich Peru opened its doors to the CITE Forestal Madera Network and representatives of the National Forestry and Wildlife Service (SERFOR), as well as experts from the U.S. Forest Service's Forest Products Laboratory. This visit, which covered sawmills and secondary processing plants in Ucayali and Lima, was organised by the FOREST+ project, an initiative supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Forest Service.

An Exchange of Knowledge and Experiences

The purpose of these visits was clear: to foster an exchange of knowledge and experiences to explore new uses and markets for Peruvian timber. During the tour, the US experts shared their knowledge on the latest trends and technologies in wood processing, which provided a valuable opportunity for Peruvian companies, including Bozovich Peru, to innovate and improve their production processes. In this context, Bozovich Peru stood out as a key player, demonstrating its commitment to excellence and sustainability at every stage of the wood value chain. Bozovich's facilities in Lima were one of the most important stops on the tour, where visitors were able to observe first-hand the advanced secondary transformation processes that the company has implemented to maximise the added value of its products.

Under Drago Bozovich's leadership, the company has expanded its presence in international markets, standing out for its innovation and competitiveness. Trained in Business Administration at the University of Lima and with a Senior Management Programme from INCAE Business School, Drago Bozovich has used his strong academic background to transform Bozovich into a global benchmark. Another key pillar in Bozovich Peru's structure is Ivo Bozovich, who has played a crucial role in optimising business operations and results. As General Manager of Bozovich, Ivo has managed a purchasing budget in excess of $33 million annually, renewing product lines and expanding the range of options, which has been instrumental in the company's growth and success. His experience in managing sales, investments and acquisitions has been crucial to the diversification of Bozovich's exportable offer and the consolidation of its global presence.

Maderera Bozovich: A Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is an intrinsic value in Maderera Bozovich's operation. The company sources its raw material from Forestal Otorongo, its 183,000 hectare forestry concession in Madre de Dios, managed under Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards. This responsible management guarantees not only the conservation of local flora and fauna, but also the generation of employment and economic development in areas where the state's presence is limited. According to Drago Bozovich, ‘We have shown that responsible and sustainable forest management is possible. In addition to conserving flora and fauna, we generate decentralised jobs, income for the country and development. This approach not only protects the Amazon forests, but also ensures that Bozovich continues to be a leader in the global timber industry.
